LA STREET STORIES what is your truth
Thrashbird: Billboard Takeover Photos by Michael Scott Slosar
subversive Los Angeles street artist.
the planning, the prepping, the shopping–the mundanity of everything pre-installation.
location scouting on Sunset Blvd.
began load in and rooftop climb that evening around 2am. had some unexpected company from within the building and issues with light turn off.
moved out and went from Hollywood to Silverlake on Sunset to the other Fox billboard. after about 30 min of scouting at 3am and looking into load up logistics we began moving up.
It started with Legos and Lincoln logs.
As far back as I can recall I have wanted to create.
As a teen I subverted mainstream cultures and mentalities.
That is when I created THRASHBIRD. I like expression where there are grey walls.
That is why I like to do street art.
As I get older the inspiration for my work is changing.
I am intrigued by taboo subjects in American life,
like sexuality and violence.
My art is a question to the people.
I am always questioning myself.
I want to know if you are too.
